About the Founders

Founder and sculptor-designer-fabricator Ken Hepburn brings a lifetime of passion for design and construction. Having worked with big firms like Gensler and Skanska to boutique studios, on projects ranging from high-end residential to commercial retail to civil infrastructure, Ken brings decades of innovation and problem-solving experience to an industry ready for a creative refresh.

With a background in modern residential work and a strong understanding of how materials shape the character of a property, Ken  guides the design direction behind each system at Boss. He specializes in bringing together small teams to build big things.

Curtis Pattee

Director of Technology

With a Master’s degree in Architecture, Curtis focuses on the intersection of traditional fabrication and modern technology. He specializes in computational design, using advanced 3D modeling techniques to bring a high level of intentionality to every laser-cut steel project. His background in the fine arts informs his eye for proportion, while his love for creative problem-solving ensures that each architectural element is as functional as it is refined.

Throughout my career, I've utilized my sales experience and deep understanding of architectural and building products to promote innovative systems and solutions to the architecture, general contractor and developer communities, specifically on the West Coast.

Jessica Burtch

Director of Comms and Content

Jessica helps mission-driven entrepreneurs, businesses and writers capture their audience's attention. A veteran editor and writer with 15+ years of experience working with the most recognizable voices in American media., she boasts a relentless eye for clarity and detail and a wax moth's ear for voice and story.
